An association (Verein, association) is the usual form for clubs, non-profits and member organisations. It is simple to create; we draft the articles and handle the register entry where needed, from CHF 990.
The essentials
An association is created by adopting written articles that state its purpose, resources and organisation, at a founding meeting of its members. Registration in the commercial register is required only in certain cases (for example when it runs a commercial business); otherwise it is optional. Associations pursuing a public-benefit purpose may apply for tax exemption with the cantonal tax authority.
If you want to dedicate assets permanently to a purpose without members, a foundation is the alternative.
